Growing up, like most kids, I loved coloring and had a ton of coloring books. Other than a few quick demonstrations for my kids, I must admit I probably haven’t colored in 25 years. I’ve been hearing more and more about adult coloring books and the photos I’ve seen of them look so gorgeous, and so fun! So, when I was invited to attend and blog about a sponsored Prismacolor Premier® Coloring Party with some fellow bloggers, I eagerly accepted the invitation!
Fellow blogger Danielle of SimmWorksFamily.com was the gracious host for our Prismacolor Premier party and she did such an amazing job with party prep! Six of us ladies were treated to coffee, mimosas and delectable food as we socialized on a Wednesday morning sans kiddos. I could get used to this type of thing!
We gathered around the dining table to thumb through gorgeous coloring books filled with pages ready for color. I settled on a page with butterflies and flowers, grabbed my Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils and got to work while I snacked on the wonderful food!
Being that I hadn’t really colored much since I was a kid, I almost didn’t know where to start. Our boxes of Prismacolor Premier Soft Core Colored Pencils had 24 gorgeous colors to choose from. I gravitated towards my usual favorite shade and chose Parma Violet. Once I got started, it was tough not to smile the whole time. As much as we were all concentrating on staying inside the lines, we were also able to have great conversation while we were all seated around the table. This was a such a great way to decompress in the middle of the hectic holiday season and just have some fun!
I don’t normally consider myself a creative person at all whatsoever, but as I started coloring, I felt the creative juices flowing! Which color would I use next? Where would I use each color? What would the finished project look like? I loved how relaxing coloring was, when you start concentrating on staying within the lines, it’s really easy to forget about anything stressful in your life.
The Prismacolor Premier Soft Core Colored Pencils were wonderful to color with. They have thick cores of color that are long-lasting and help bring bold statements to life, while the soft leads are perfect for blending in or shading away color. They’re perfect for new artists like me, or for seasoned professionals. We each were able to bring home a set of pencils as well as a set of Prismacolor Premier Illustration Markers, which I can’t wait to put to use!
What a great way this was to bring some ladies together for a fun morning of creativity. I could easily see replicating this experience in my own home with my girlfriends. Maybe a little wine tasting and coloring party is in order! Prismacolor provides the perfect tool to de-stress and re-energize during this busy holiday season, or at any time of year!
Prismacolor products are available on Amazon, and they also offer several coloring book choices there as well, including the book we colored in at this party. These make for wonderful gifts for just about anyone! Don’t forget to gift yourself with a set of Prismacolor Premier Soft Core Colored Pencils and a few coloring books so you can host your own fun and relaxing coloring party soon!

What a wonderful idea for a get together. I may need to do this to battle the January post-holiday doldrums!
It will work wonders! You can’t help but smile while you’re coloring! 🙂
Oh this was on my Secret Santa list so I’m hoping to receive one for Chrustmas! So relaxing! Happy holidays and thanks for sharing
Love the idea of a colouring party. I find it really relaxing and enjoy colouring at the end of the day to chill out.
I might just do this for my 22nd birthday party ????
