Stop the presses, I have just found the facial cleanser of my dreams! I was recently asked by NeoStrata to review their Foaming Glycolic Wash and happily agreed as I’m a long-time fan of glycolic acid, especially in facial cleansers. I’ve used several glycolic facial cleansers in the past and found that some were a bit harsh, some not quite strong enough and others were just not all that exciting results-wise. NeoStrata has finally gotten it right! Recommended for experienced glycolic acid users (and not recommended for sensitive skin), NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash contains 18% glycolic acid to help smooth skin texture along with 2% lactobionic acid to gently increase cell renewal. This high-strength, pH-balanced face wash is also soap-free, which is a huge plus in my book.
How would I describe my first impression of NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash? Well, I’m pretty sure this must be what it feels like to rub a cloud on your face! In all seriousness, this is one of the softest foaming cleansers I have ever used. Although a very powerful cleanser, it feels ever so gentle on the skin and you would almost never know all the work it is doing behind the scenes while you’re basking in the foamy softness. I felt no tingling or stinging at all on my first use and the second time just felt very minimal tingling in a few spots on and around my nose. This is the same spot where I always need extractions, so it’s no surprise that maybe the cleanser was working extra hard in these spots! It was nothing bothersome though, and by my 3rd application and beyond, that tingling had subsided. From the very first couple of uses, I already noticed much cleaner pores, especially where I felt that bit of tingling! My skin appeared more even in texture and tone and just felt more balanced. I noticed I didn’t have as many oily areas pop up during the day and my skin feels so soft and clean even at the end of the day. I’m a huge fan of this cleanser now and look forward to trying more NeoStrata products in the very near future.
