As a nearly lifelong resident of EastLake (we moved here in 1986 when it first came to be), a graduate of EastLake High School and a parent of a child in an EastLake school, I am so excited to be involved in planning the first ever Taste of EastLake to benefit the EastLake Educational Foundation! The EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation established in 1995 with the mission of raising funds to support the highest quality educational opportunities in the public schools within the community of EastLake in Chula Vista, California. Through community support, the EEF has been able to provide over $1,700,000 to equally benefit all six EastLake public schools; these schools include EastLake Elementary, Olympic View Elementary, Salt Creek Elementary, Arroyo Vista Charter School, EastLake Middle and EastLake High.
Taste of EastLake will be held on Friday, January 23rd 2015 at the Venue at EastLake and will feature numerous local restaurants, wineries, breweries, spirit purveyors and live music. There will be a fabulous silent auction as well as a live auction with some really great exclusive items up for bid! A few of the already confirmed restaurants include Via Lago (a Busalacchi restaurant) , Romesco (owned by famed chef Javier Plascencia), Savoie (owned by the Karina’s Group), the famed Zorba’s Greek Cuisine, the delectable Nothing Bundt Cakes and more! Our main sponsor for this event is a foundation run by none other than Eastlake’s very own Adrian Gonzalez and his wife Betsy, The Adrian & Betsy Gonzalez Foundation. This will definitely be a night to remember! Tickets start at only $50, or get 2 for just $90 and can be purchased on the EEF website. Any businesses interested in getting involved as a vendor, sponsor or auction donor can contact me at jen@stylishlysocial.com for more info! Hope to see you all there!
